The Gallery and WI Shop celebrated its 1st Anniversary on July 5th. The evening do was a happy event thanks to Casa del Vino, Javea for their wine tasting promo and the friends of the WI for preparing a lovely arrangement of snacks. The WI Market is every Saturday from 10am. We sell a variety of homemade cakes and savories, chutneys, jams and marmalades, plus art and crafty items. We are always looking for new stallholders – so get in touch. If you are missing your Spanish classes we have a free coffee morning every Friday at 11am with Spanish/English crosswords and word play. The WI ladies and friends of the gallery meet up every month. The next free social evening is on Tuesday 19th July from 6pm. Everyone is very welcome for Cake, Coffee, Cava and Chat. | Lions Club Teulada - "Manhatton Jazz" in Moraira | ||

The Lions Club Teualada-Moraira will be staging the first of 3 summer concerts beginning with Jeff Hatton and his fabulous jazz band “Manhatton Jazz” on the evening of Sunday the 24th July. These popular musical events are staged on the seafront next to Moraira castle and this year will include a bar and a great attraction for the youngsters, face painting, carried out by a team of Lady Lions and friends. The concerts are free and entertainment starts at 6pm with the jazz band on stage at 8pm. Lions will be passing through the audience collecting donations for local families in need and we are asking for a modest donation of 1€ for face painting. All monies collected goes to local families in need via Caritas and other welfare organisations, and we are always on the lookout for donations of good saleable items that we can then market at our rastro stalls in Teulada. We have an initiative to produce 1st day welcome packs for emaus children who often turn up with nothing but the clothes they stand up in, these children are often traumatised. These welcome packs provide the basics to help these disadvantaged children settle in to their new environment, and at school, and donations of any of the items listed will be very welcome. All funds raised by the Lions go directly to the community and no administration fees are deducted. |

| The Drop in Cafe's doors are open every Monday morning 10am to 12 noon at Laura's at Westbeach, Avenida Gabriel Miro, Calpe (near the fountain at the bottom of Gabriel Miro). Come and have a coffee and a chat with one of our trained volunteers who will listen to any issues you may be encountering regardless of what the problem is, or how big or small it might seem to be.
We will not judge you or tell you what you should or shouldn’t do or feel but Instead, encourage you to explore your situation and feelings in your own way. In the privacy of a separate room from the main cafe, what is heard is entirely confidential within the organisation, and you do not need to give any personal information whatsoever when you talk to a volunteer. A very warm welcome awaits everyone, so please do come and visit us. The Costa Blanca Samaritans are also available for telephone support any evening of the week 8 pm to 12 midnight. |
